DEATH OF A PHOTOGRAPH

Sustainable, Environmental, Photography

Each conventional photograph has its own ecological footprint, the resources and chemicals that are required to capture and produce a print can cause damage to the environment in both direct and indirect ways. In some cases even causing health issues for the photographers creating them as well as their contributions towards the deterioration of the natural environment and climate change which will in turn affect future generations.

So is it time to change ?

These ideas and the search for something more sustainable are the foundations to this project and have led me to create an explorative collective of alternative process created works in an attempt to reduce my personal and environmental harm as a photographer myself. In an educational journey that has led me to discover historical processes and alternative ways of creating and processing photographic work.

This project has come to encompass my journey as a photographer, my exploration within the creative field, and my reconnection with nature. As I become more grounded as I find how I want my practice to operate and the sort of work I want to create.
